Dr Natura Colonix and Toxinout Colon Cleansing

Why I created this blog
I have decided to create a daily blog detailing my experiences with DRNatutura's (http://www.drnatura.com) colon cleanse. I have never "blogged" before, but I would like to keep an account of my progress through the course, and hopefully this may be of interest to other people with similar symptoms or interest.

My long term digestive problems
For quite a few years, I have been experiencing the following symptoms:

More serious:
  • Indigestion
  • Heartburn
  • Inability to digest large meals properly
  • Inability to digest proteins and carbohydrates efficiently at the same time
  • Stomach cramps
  • Food intolerance
  • Low energy
Less serious and aesthetic:
  • Acne
  • Gas
  • Runny nose
  • Bloating
  • Bags under eyes

During this time, my symptoms have gradually been getting worse. I am currently at the stage where I am following the hay diet, also known as food combining or food separation (see basic chart explaining this below, and further info on this here, here, here and here).
I tried the food combining diet after a few days of continuous problems with the above mentioned symptoms, and it has really helped. I instantly lost some bodyfat and my stomach bloating instantly reduced. I had more energy too.
However, the symptoms are still gradually getting worse again, and it can be an annoyance having to always get your combinations spot on, or have bad reactions.

Why I am trying a colon cleanse
Diet
I already eat a well balanced diet, mainly consisting of lean meats, fruits and vegetables, and I supplement with multivitamins and fish oils. My diet is not perfect, but I hardly ever eat sweet or fatty foods, so I am sure that my diet is not the route cause of my problems. I perhaps do not eat enough fiber, but I have been focusing on this more recently.

Exercise
Although I am sitting at a desk most of the day, I complete about 7 hours of exercise a week, consisting of three resistance training sessions, two pilates classes, 3-5 interval training sessions, and a 4 mile run. I am sure that my exercise is not the cause of my problems either.

Physical problem
The only other thing I can think of is that I have something inside me that is not functioning correctly, or is damaged. Perhaps a stomach ulcer, or perhaps my body produces too much or too little of some digestive acids.

I got searching on the internet, for other possible problems that could cause my symptoms, and an interesting one that appeared is the idea of cleaning out your guts. The general idea is that your intestines could be housing parasites, be coated with by-products, have the wrong balance of bacteria, or otherwise be clogged up.

Why I am trying a herbal colon cleanse, and not "irrigation" or "hydrotherapy"
The sheer volume of the testimonials at Dr Natura, many of which are commenting on helping or eradicating symptoms similar to mine helped persuade me that this has got a chance of working. Also, many other sites and respected people recommend them.
I did more research and found some people on forums that found that their Colonix and Toxinout programs did not work for them, but they generally did not report much in the way of symptoms before going on the course, and I guess that it will not work for everyone (and it seems that these people are always the ones to post on forums!).

I have found that there are many arguments for and against herbal colon cleanses in preference to hydrotherapy colon cleanses, but after balancing all positives and negatives, I decided to give the herbal cleanse from DrNatura a go. I am using the Colonix and Toxinout products. Bluntly, the Colonix product includes a fiber drink, tablets to kill parasites, and tea as a laxative. The Toxinout product includes herbal toxic metal removal tablets, probiotic tablets, and strong multivitamin/antioxident tablets. Both products are supposidly all natural.

A detailed description and plan of when I will be taking these can be found here.

I have purchased two months supply. If I feel I need to, I will extend to a third month.
